Atlanta REALTORS® Market Brief: April

The Atlanta REALTORS® (ARA) Market Brief for April 2019 shows residential sales down 2.9% from April of last year. Prices, both average and median, continue to rise. The median sales price in April was $282,000, an increase of 3.7% from last April. The average sales price was $350,000, up 5.7% from the previous year.

Total sales units came in at 13,856 which is an increase of 12.8% from last April. New units make up 5,478 of this count which is an increase of 0.4% from last month. The supply for the month increased to 2.9 months inventory.

Atlanta REALTORS® president DeAnn Golden summarizes the month: “Atlanta housing inventory ticked up in April, with the local market having 12% more listings for buyers than this time last year. The healthy economy is creating considerable demand for purchasing a home, and this increase in inventory in the early part of the buying season is a good sign for the months ahead.”
