Pratt-Pullman Yard selected as venue for cutting-edge, immersive Van Gogh exhibit!

Atlanta art lovers, rejoice! The Pratt-Pullman Yard has been selected as the venue for a state-of-the-art immersive Van Gogh “experience” to open on May 19th, 2021. The art project was slated to come to Atlanta but the creators hadn’t yet settled on the perfect location to house this 360-degree digital projection. The videos (with virtual reality components)  bring Van Gogh’s most beloved works of art to life.  With its 20,000 square feet and 2-story layout, the “cathedral-like” Building 1 of the Pullman Yards is the perfect location to house this one-of-a-kind experience. The structure of the building also allows the required social distancing and Covid-safe precautions to be set in place, ensuring safety for all participants.

What to expect at this unique art experience? The Van Gogh Expo website breaks it down as such,

“Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience features a one of kind Virtual Reality interactive, which guides you on a ten-minute journey through “A day in the life of the Artist.” Walk alongside Van Gogh during this peaceful, visually rich journey to discover the inspiration behind eight of his iconic works, including: Vincent’s Bedroom at Arles, and Starry Night Over The Rhone River….(it) is an all digital, hands free, and perfect for our socially distant world. Its rich content is suitable for a wide audience, including families, school groups, couples, and seniors. In addition to a spacious central area where Van Gogh’s works stretch floor-to-ceiling, the experience includes separate galleries that chronicle his life, technique, and influence thru informative panels, larger than life re-creations and engaging interactives.”

65,000 tickets have already been purchased so this is already turning out to be an event not to be missed! For tickets and more information, visit https://vangoghexpo.com/atlanta/ and What Now Atlanta for a further breakdown of how and why the Pullman Yards were selected as the venue.
