Permits to start work on a four-story multi-use building in Ormewood Park have been filed and plans to start demolition are underway. The development will take over the former Masonic Lodge building which is comprised of seven buildings, of which all but two will be torn down.
The Lodge plans envisions 42 residential units ranging from studio apartments to 3-bedrooms. There will be units reserved for households who fall between 30 percent and 80 percent of area median income. This is a boon for the neighborhood who has seen drastic price increases in home prices in the area.
The Lodge also includes plans for a 54-foot-tall, 16,560-square-foot office and retail building southwest of the intersection of Moreland and Glenwood Avenues. The original lodge building will be rehabbed for commercial space.
A wellness center and community garden are also included along with parking spots for 55 cars. We are glad to see Ormewood Park developments offering some diversity in rent prices and are excited to see how this project develops!
