Atlanta REALTORS® Market Brief Report: January 2019

Sales down but prices and inventory remain high for January!

Average and sales price continue to stay on the rise with increases of 7.1% and 4.9% respectively. The median sales price was $256,000 and average sales price was $318,000.

January 2019 sales were down 10.1% from January of the previous year bring the total residential sales to 2,866.

A total of 12,894 Atlanta housing units were counted in January which is a 20.1% increase from the previous January. 4,624 of those units were new listings which is up 53.4% from the previous month.

Even with the rise in price, this increase of new and active listings will be good news for Atlanta residential home buyers by bringing more buying options to the market.
