Spring is almost here! Soon, flowers will be blooming, half of Atlanta will be overdosing on allergy medicine, and I will be sitting on the patio of my favorite restaurant, drinking a bloody Mary with my best friend … my dog.
We live in a city filled with restaurants that have ample outdoor seating, and many of these establishments welcome our four-legged canine friends with open arms and a bowl of water! Here are a few that my dog Bob and I have visited throughout the years! You may want to give them a try after a stroll through the park or down the beltline! I think you’ll be glad you did!

This Grant Park favorite was the first place Bob and I visited after springing him from the shelter 10 years ago. The staff is friendly, they put out dog bowls, and your pooch will get lots of pats on the head from passer byers. Try the Cuban sandwiches. They are pretty scrumptious!
552 Flat Shoals Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30316
Oh, East Atlanta Village … how I love thee! A stroll through the village is not complete until you’ve stopped at the Midway Pub for a refreshing beverage and some vegan tacos! They have ample patio space for you and your pooch!
684 John Wesley Dobbs Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30312
Friends introduced me to this place some time ago! It is on the beltline, so if you and your pup need to take a little break from walking, you may want to pop in here. There is a large garden where you and your dog can have a drink and enjoy a meal. Fun People. Cool dogs. Good food. Who could ask for more?
500 Amsterdam Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30306
This family run restaurant is awesome, and has saved me on more than one occasion with a cold bottle and fresh healthy food! In addition to their spot in Amsterdam Walk, they also have a location in Piedmont Park by the swimming pool! So, this makes for a nice break while walking your pup through the park. Sean is one of the nicest guys on the planet, and he makes a mean solstice omelet wrap! Totally check this place out!

You can find me here on any given Sunday evening! This place has GREAT outdoor seating with not one, but two patios and a grassy spot for you and your pooch! I like the blackened shrimp tacos, but I hear the burgers are pretty awesome, too!
Sombreros Mexican Cantina
411 North Central Avenue Hapeville, GA 30354
Nothing says spring time like a margarita on the patio! This is one of my all-time favorite family run restaurants where the staff always makes you feel special. Grab your pooch, have a seat on the patio, and sip on a delicious drink while watching planes take off and land from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson airport!
