Atlanta REALTORS® Market Brief Report: December 2018

Sales numbers are down yet listing inventory increased along with sales price last month according to the Atlanta REALTORS® (ARA) Market report for December 2018.

December residential housing sales show a decrease in volume compared to last year. Total number of sales are down 21.3% bringing the number to 3,656 for the month.

However, prices are still rising. Both median and average prices show an increase, 7.6% and 7.5% respectively. The median December sales price was $268,000 and average was $328,000.

Total inventory came in at 13,315 units which is an increase of 12.7% from December 2017. The new listings included in that number were up 18.7% for a total of 3,015 units. This is 25.8% decrease from the November 2018.
